morsel:

Frampton Comes Alive! is the sound of bemused confusion in his family's home. His parents possessed a modest but admirably diverse record collection, from Johnny Cash to Roberta Flack to Eydie Gorme, but they hadn't added to it in the previous five years. One day his mother returned home from unspecified errands, brandishing the Frampton album in all its back lit soft rock glory, only to be met with blank stares from her husband, son and daughter. They all dutifully listened to it, which did little to explain his mother's mysterious impulse purchase. Soon enough, they returned to Carole King and the Godspell original cast recording... It was quite some time before his mother brought home another album.
